1. Who am I renting from when I reserve my rental?
Florida Keys Island Realty is a full service real estate company licensed with the state of Florida to sell and rent real estate. We comply with all local, state and licensing regulations required to rent property.
2. How do I know I will get the rental I rented when I arrive?
We make every effort to keep properties in inventory with owner that are committed to honoring rental commitments. On a rare occasion an owner may need to sell or make changes to a reservation. If this happens we will make every effort to inform you in advance and
3. What is included in my rental? What do I need to bring?
Each rental has what is included or optional when you review the details. If you have specific needs check the amenities you prefer and only those properties that include them will come up in your search. Most vacation rentals include items such as toiletries, hair dryers, detergents, towels, linens and most standard home items. Check the listing for details so you know what you need to purchase or bring while you are visiting.
4. How does the cleaning fee work?
All rentals require cleaning upon departure and prior to the next guests arrival. A cleaning fee is charged depending on the size of the unit and amenities. All costs for required cleaning is part of your reservation charges and paid upfront.
5. How much money is due and when do I need to pay it?
All reservations require a deposit to hold the unit for you for a period of time. Most deposits are refundable if the notice time stated in the reservation is met. Once you leave your rental in good order the deposit is refunded as per the reservation agreement.
6. Can I bring my pet?
Be sure to use out "Pet Friendly" selection to narrow down your search if you plan to bring your pet. Many of our owners allow pets while some do not. If you choose a home and plan to bring your pet be sure it's pet friendly so you don't experience any inconveniences. There are no places to board your pet while on vacation so plan ahead, tell us about your pet and we'll make sure they are welcome in the rental when you arrive.
7. Are there any additional fees due when I arrive or during my stay?
We require all fees for your reservation to be paid in full prior to your arrival as per the reservation agreement. Additional charges for amenities may be required and/or balances paid at a later time prior to use or participation of the activity. You will find more information in the activity/amenity section of this website. You are welcome to contact the vendors directly for more information.
8. I'm an international guest, how do I make payment for my vacation stay?
Most of our international guests wire us funds for their stay. We will provide the necessary bank and SWIFT code information should you book with us and need to fund in this manner. Wired funds must arrive according to the booking requirements for the property rented.
9. I'm traveling with young children (baby/toddler). What amenities are available?
Children love the keys and local adventures so many amenities are available for their stay from Pack-n-play sleepers, high chairs, safety gates, play pens and some toys. Please let us know your special needs prior to your arrival so we can have them ready for you when you arrive.
10. Can we have a party and invite friends to our rental?
Most of our properties are located in residential areas and have noise ordinances. If you plan to party loud we have offshore islands, properties with more distance between neighbors and houseboat/island combinations. Let us know in advance and we will make every effort to accommodate your party needs.
